I created this gallery wall using vintage flower prints for the bedroom at Stamping Cottage. It’s a small room with one large blank wall that needed something special. I kept coming back to vintage floral wall decor ideas and soft botanical artwork. A floral gallery wall felt like the perfect way to add a little colour and soft pattern.
The bedroom looks out onto the garden, and the house is Arts and Crafts in style. Flower pictures were a natural choice. I chose matching A4 frames with no mount to keep a more simpler look. It creates a calm but impactful vintage floral gallery wall. Letting the artwork fill the frames works well in a smaller-sized frame. The overall look is relaxed and timeless.

You can of course buy ready-to-hang vintage botanical artworks, have a look at what I found here. It is definitely more affordable to make it yourself, plus there’s a much wider choice of artwork to use. You can buy ready-made prints or download the artwork from Etsy as I did.
I spent ages looking for the perfect set. I wanted vintage flower prints framed that felt soft and decorative. The great thing with downloadable artwork is that you get multiple file sizes with clear instructions, so even if you’ve never printed art before it’s very easy to do at home. I chose a bundle with 12 prints even though I thought I might only use six — having extra options really helps when you’re playing around with layout.
If you are downloading files to print yourself, you will either need a printer or to use a print service. I am restricted by my printer as the maximum size I can print is A4, but this was a good size for this project.
COST BREAKDOWN:
I chose A4 frames with no mount so the prints filled the space cleanly and simply. I love the rustic but light wood tone. My frames worked out at £14.97 each, and I used ten in total.

Double-sided matte photo paper makes the prints feel more like real artwork than standard printer paper.

If you don’t have a printer or want to go larger than A4 size, use an online print service to produce beautiful, large-format versions in sizes A2 and A3.
It’s definitely not a cheap project, but more than half the price of the ready-to-hang options I could find.

Choosing a larger set of prints gave me plenty of options when arranging the wall and helped me balance colours and shapes across the layout. Once printed, the artwork instantly felt like real vintage floral pictures on the wall, especially on thicker matte paper.
When planning a gallery wall, proportions make a big difference. I arranged mine into two rows of five with around an inch of space between each frame. This layout works beautifully for both a classic vintage floral wall decor inspiration look and a more modern take on a maximalist gallery wall. Work with the proportions of your room and the space you are filling to decide your layout.
If you’re unsure on sizing, cutting brown paper to the size of your frames and taping it to the wall is a great way to test spacing first. It helps you visualise exactly how your vintage floral wall art ideas will sit in the room before hanging anything. I used A4 paper and masking tape to decide on the best layout.
Creating your own wall using digital artwork is also one of the easiest ways to experiment with how to decorate with vintage floral prints. You can scale them up or down, mix different flower styles and colours, to make a collection that feels personal.
