Rechargeable table lamps are my new favourite thing! Thankfully, most big lighting manufacturers have caught up with the huge market for cordless lamps.
A rechargeable lamp provides amazing mood lighting, giving a cosy, warm feel. At their brightest, they do not provide a vivid light. If you need more intense or directional light for tasks, a plug-in table lamp with a traditional bulb will serve you better. For layered ambient lighting, the lamps below will be lovely.
Rechargeable Table Lamps provide a fabulous extra layer of lighting. They give a perfect restaurant ambience on a dining table and are great for spots where an electrical cord would be unsightly such as built-ins next to a fireplace or on a side table next to the sofa.
rechargeable table lamp battery life
The quality and design of the rechargeable lamps available on the high street have massively improved! Pooky particularly shines 😉 when it comes to the variety of bases and shades which you can mix and match.
Here’s the Pooky Doorstop Rechargeable Lamp in a corner of my kitchen. Their lamps work with LED Cells which they sell separately (essentially a rechargeable light bulb). I bought two and keep the spare one charged in a kitchen drawer meaning I can swap them when one needs recharging and I’m never without a light!
A rechargeable table lamp lasts five to twenty hours before needing recharging. I would look for one with the longest charge life possible so you can switch it on and use it without worrying about the battery depleting. Most are charged using a USB cable, which is invariably included with the lamp. Charging time is anywhere from around three to six hours.
Note that many rechargeable table lamps have integrated LED lights. It’s often not possible to replace the bulbs when they eventually die. Most, however, have a long lifespan. Check the guarantee before you purchase, most are at least 2 years.
Some rechargeable lamps are suitable for use outside so you can take them to your patio to enjoy suppers alfresco in the evenings. Check first to see if it’s waterproof.
