The Georgian Flat is a town centre apartment in Penzance, Cornwall. The flat is semi-basement which is always going to mean a challenge with light! The bathroom faces North East and the window is under a fire escape staircase so it’s quite a dark room with little sun. The challenge was to create a cosy retreat-like space to come home to after walks in Cornwall’s sometimes invigorating weather! The room is quite narrow so we decided to forgo a small bath with a shower over it and instead have a lovely large shower.
We chose a horizontal shiplap to add some character, a beautiful soft warm white for the walls, aged brass fittings and darker wood accent details.
