The English Garden Style Tin Coast Edit is hereā¦ and it’s full of the pieces I’ve been adding to our own garden this summer. Inspired by English country gardens, English cottage garden design and the relaxed English garden aesthetic I love, this collection brings together striped textiles, wicker planters, terracotta pots and comfortable outdoor seating. We have three holiday lets: The Georgian Flat (sleeps 5), Stamping Cottage (sleeps 2), and Tin Barn (sleeps 2), all in the South West of Cornwall.
A few of these pieces have already found a home in our own garden. We’ve used this large rattan planter at the entrance to Stamping Cottage, planted with Salvia ‘Caradonna’, Geum ‘Queen of Orange’ and hardy Geranium ‘Rozanne’. I also love the soft, milk-churn shape of the larger planters (similar here), which are currently filled with old-fashioned geraniums and Verbena ‘Vera Pink’. The loungers have been one of my favourite garden purchases this year ā excellent value and perfect for creating that relaxed Mediterranean holiday feel at home. We’ve paired them with taupe striped cushions, which tie in beautifully with the stone walls, gravel and planting.

This edit is inspired by the garden we’ve been slowly putting together over the last few months. Natural wicker, faded stripes, terracotta, stone and soft planting all feature heavily, creating the relaxed English style garden that I love. There are touches of both English cottage gardens and French cottage gardens throughout, blending traditional cottage garden planting with a more modern English garden feel.
Many of these ideas work beautifully in a countryside cottage garden, an English cottage with garden, or a larger English garden backyard. They’re also perfect for anyone looking for inspiration for an English cottage garden layout that feels relaxed, layered and full of character.
