These three gorgeous Christmas Tree Themes will take the guess work out of trying to dress your Christmas tree this year.
Of course, you may want to decorate your tree with existing decorations and we have at least one tree at home which is a bit more whimsical and haphazard and definitely without a Christmas Tree theme! Sometimes though, it’s lovely to have a more cohesive look to your decorating and at least one of these three Christmas Tree Themes will work with most interior decorating styles.
There are links to all the decorations and the trees themselves under each of the three themes. However, don’t feel the need to buy all new decorations – you can probably use some that you already have. The tips given for each them will give you an idea of the kinds of decorations to use to create each theme.
This post shows three Christmas Tree Themes: Warm Spice Christmas, Merry and Maximalist and Snowy Scandi Simplicity.

Tip for this Christmas Tree Theme: Try to keep everything tonally similar but use different textures (shiny metal, warm wood, pleated paper etc)

Traditional Victorian Pine Pre-lit Christmas Tree with lots of branches for decorating!
Hammered Brass Christmas Tree Skirt reflects both Christmas Lights and Firelight.
A lovely holiday activity is drying Orange Slices in the oven, worth it for the scent alone! Add little hooks, I bought mine from Amazon here. You can buy them already dried and ready to hang, I love these that are strung with preserved eucalyptus too.
The cutest Gold Nutcracker Articulated Figure is from Tin Coast Design Shop.
The Mince Pies remind me of Christmas baking with my Mum as a child, and cutting out little shapes like this for the top. They are probably my favourite Christmas decoration of all time so obviously they are from our shop!
Dark Wood Bead Garlands are quite hard to find, I love that these add a traditional look. They do have tassels on the ends which you can leave but I would probably cut them off, they are a good price in any case.
You can buy pre-made Velvet Ribbon Bows (see this Blog post!) These lush Red Velvet Bows are from Anthropologie. A cheaper option is to just tie velvet ribbon on the ends of branches, I love the Wine Red Ribbon pictured which also comes in a lovely Green Option.
This Nutcracker Cloche is the perfect maximalist decoration!
Glass Hanging Star embellished with gold and pearl beadwork.
Glass Tulip Bell with tiny gold beads and sequins.
Fortnum & Mason has some gloriously OTT decorations! They are expensive but heirloom quality. Love this Olive Green and Gold Floral Bauble, the sweetest Hanging Mini Hamper and their Christmas Carousel Ornament.
Green Marbled Glass Baubles are from Sarah Raven.
snowy scandi simplicity
Inspired by Swedish Christmases, keep it simple with natural materials, clip-on candles, stars and white baubles on a looser branched more minimal tree.
Tip for this Christmas Tree Theme: I love the look of solely white and wood decorations but the addition of red does add a fun element to this tree. I love the Scandi Elves shown here!

A Rattan Tree Topper is a lovely way of setting the tone, we have them in our Tin Coast Design Shop here and this one is from Nkuku.
These Glass Baubles are very simple but I particularly love that they are a soft snowy white and the little grey velvet hanging ribbons.
The Glitter Swirl Bauble is to add a bit of sparkle and is a good price from The White Company. I also like their Whitewashed Rattan Braided Tree Skirt which handily comes apart for storage.
The White Rattan Tree Skirt shown is from Dunelm, it also comes in Grey which I think would also work well for this minimalist look.
An alternative is this lovely Jute Skirt from H&M with its cute red binding detail and bows!
Light Mango Wood Curbridge Garland is from Garden Trading.
The Winter Frost Hanging Houses come in a set of 3 and have a touch of shimmer around their gutters!
