Visiting the wineries in Cornwall is one of my favourite things to do—there’s something so special about sipping award-winning wine while surrounded by stunning vineyard views and the coastal charm of this beautiful place. It really gives you that true holiday feeling!
Cornwall isn’t just a place of stunning beaches and beautiful coastal views—it’s quickly becoming a top destination for wine lovers.
With its temperate climate, south-facing slopes, and proximity to the sea, Cornwall produces some truly exceptional wines, from the best sparkling to crisp whites and refreshing rosés. Since Cornwall planted its first vineyard in 1978, the region now boasts eight vineyards, each offering its own unique experience for wine enthusiasts.

1. Camel Valley Vineyard
Located in the rolling hills of North Cornwall, near to Bodmin, Camel Valley Vineyard is one of the most famous wineries in the region. Known for its award-winning wines, Camel Valley offers a selection of wines including their sparkling wines, rosé wines, and crisp white wines.
The vineyard is set in an ideal location, with breathtaking views of the Bodmin Moor, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing winery visit. There is a lovely terrace overlooking the grape vineyard where you can have wine by the glass.
Their guided tours are a great way to learn about the winemaking process and the soil type that makes Camel Valley’s wines so special. Be sure to check out their Grand Tour, which delves deeper into the winemaking process and gives you a behind-the-scenes look at this working winery. And, of course, you can taste their wines—whether you prefer a light rosé or a rich sparkling wine, Camel Valley has something for everyone.
Their sparkling wines, in particular, have earned multiple awards at the National English Wine Competition and internationally, solidifying Camel Valley’s reputation as an award-winning vineyard. The winery is also a great spot to visit if you’re part of larger groups looking to enjoy a Cornish wine tour. If you are bringing children, book the morning tour, which lasts for about forty-five minutes.
Booking is essential for wine on the terrace and their tours. Note that Camel Valley is not open at the weekends.

2. Trevibban Mill
Trevibban Mill is another fantastic vineyard in Cornwall, set in the heart of the Cornish countryside near to Padstow. With its south-facing slopes and acres of vineyards, Trevibban Mill is committed to organic farming and produces a range of award-winning wines, including rosé wines, sparkling wines, and white wines.
A guided Wine Tour lasts approximately an hour to an hour and a half. This tour takes you through the vineyards and the surrounding countryside and is led by one of the owners or a family member of the estate and is followed by a tutored tasting of 5 selected wines.
Alternatively, you can do a guided Wine or Cider Tasting lasting for about an hour.
Both tours can be followed by lunch in the form of lovely sharing boards of hummus and charcuterie.
Dog-Friendly: Trevibban Mill is a dog-friendly vineyard, and they welcome dogs on leads on their tours. Guide dogs welcome.
Trevibban Mill – Great for a relaxing yet informative experience!
Very accommodating for children of all ages (highchairs provided!). Food is casual, with delicious sharing and grazing boards. Great for a light lunch with gorgeous views.
Dogs allowed. Tours are available from February to December.

3. Polgoon Vineyard
As a local, I have to mention Polgoon Vineyard as one of best wineries in Cornwall! Located in England’s most westerly vineyard, just a short walk from my Airbnb, The Georgian Flat in Penzance. Polgoon offers a fantastic experience for wine lovers. The vineyard’s south-facing slopes provide the perfect conditions for growing a variety of wines, including rosé wines, white wines, and sparkling varieties.
Polgoon offers both guided and private tours, where you can explore the vineyard, have a look at their wine room and learn about the grape varieties, including Seyval Blanc, Pinot Noir, and other varieties that thrive in Cornwall’s climate.
Guided tours last around 90 minutes and include a guided tasting of different award-winning wines. You can book a table for when your tour ends. There is a lovely outside patio with a pergola and vines in addition to indoor seating! Dining is casual with wood fired pizzas and cheese boards (which I highly recommend).
Summer and winter tours vary slightly. Private tours should be booked well in advance. Self-guided tours of the wine farm last 30 minutes and are especially good if you have kids in tow, as you can walk around at your own pace.
Polgoon also has a lovely onsite deli and an online shop where you can buy their wines, ciders, juices and other locally sourced gifts. The café is a great spot for a coffee too, with plenty of parking and beautiful woodland walks nearby!
Dog-Friendly: Polgoon is dog-friendly, and dogs on leads are welcome on the vineyard tours. Whether you’re bringing your furry friend for a stroll around the vineyard or just to enjoy the fresh air, Polgoon is a great spot for dogs and their owners. Guide dogs welcome.
Polgoon Vineyard – Great for families, informal and relaxed, dogs allowed, year-round, children welcome.
Food is casual and the pizzas are delicious!

4. Knightor Winery
Not far from St Austell, Knightor Winery is known for its traditional method sparkling wines and exquisite rosé wines. The vineyard is located on the south-facing slopes, offering spectacular views of the surrounding Cornish countryside.
Their guided wine grand tour takes place once a week and lasts about an hour. It offers a detailed look into the winemaking process, from vine to bottle, and is perfect for wine lovers who want to dive deep into the art of wine production.
Knightor Winery also hosts Cornish wine tastings, both guided and self-guided, in their winery shop. These last for about forty-five minutes and make a great aperitif before having lunch at the restaurant!
For a unique activity, try the Cornish Cocktail experience, which lasts for about ninety minutes. This would be great for a birthday or special event. Bookings are available for larger parties.

In addition to wine tastings, they host a variety of events throughout the year, including feast nights and supper clubs. Lunch is available on Sundays only.

5. Looe Valley Vineyard
Located near to Liskeard, in the beautiful East Looe Valley in south-east Cornwall, Looe Valley Vineyard is a family-run vineyard that offers a more intimate wine-tasting experience. Known for its excellent white and rosé wines, Looe Valley is perfect for a private tour where you can learn all about their wine production while taking in the picturesque surroundings.
The vineyard tours offer insights into the grape varieties, winemaking process, and the unique conditions of this vineyard. After the tour, head to their sun terrace for a glass of wine and enjoy the peaceful beauty of the valley.
